Koussevitsky, Serge
(1874-1951) Кусевицкий, Сергей Александрович (Серж)
Русский музыкант, дирижер и контрабасист. С 1920 в США. Главный дирижер Бостонского симфонического оркестра [Boston Symphony Orchestra] (1924-49). Учредил Беркширский музыкальный центр [Berkshire Music Center] (1940) и летнюю музыкальную школу (1936) в г. Тэнглвуде [Tanglewood], шт. Массачусетс. Стал ее директором. Способствовал распространению произведений современных композиторов и русской классики, первым исполнил "Петрушку" Стравинского, многие произведения А. Коплэнда [Copland, Aaron].
